√16 is not equal to -4

When asked to find all the square roots 16, the answer is ±4.
However, when asked to simplify √16 (with the radical symbol), the answer is the principal square root, +4.
Most people would agree that √9+√25=8.
That’s because when evaluating square roots, we use the positive or the principal square root only.
Otherwise, we’d end up with 4 different answer for √9+√25.
