We’re continuing our discussion about the One Piece Live Action on Netflix and some of the fun differences we can pick out, so keeping in line with our theme of talking about the Strawhats, when Luffy meets Zoro in the Show there’s a few key differences to how they meet in the manga. You see in the anime and manga Zoro is captured by Axe Hand Morgan and tied up in the courtyard where he’ll have to spend an entire MONTH, 30 days without food or water. Zoro makes it up to 20 days before Luffy comes along and saves a girl who gets thrown around by Marine, and seeing how Zoro handled this girl that was trying to feed him and the fact that Marines have him tied up, Luffy asks Zoro to join his crew to which Zoro outright says No, because he’s a pirate hunter. In the Netflix show, as Luffy is looking for his map he gets lost and 1stumbles upon Zoro, appealing to his dream and asking him if a Pirate hunter is ALL he wants to be in this life, telling Zoro he’s a good guy for how he saved the girl earlier in the bar, with Zoro paying Luffy back in the end by helping him and Nami defeat the Marines and escape.
